{"id":4520,"date":"2017-06-27T13:18:11","date_gmt":"2017-06-27T11:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spaceteam.at\/?p=4520"},"modified":"2017-06-27T13:18:11","modified_gmt":"2017-06-27T11:18:11","slug":"launchday-straubing-two-staged-flight-of-the-hound","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wptest3.tust.at\/index.php\/2017\/06\/27\/launchday-straubing-two-staged-flight-of-the-hound\/","title":{"rendered":"Launchday Straubing: Two Staged Flight of The Hound"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the successful <a href=\"http:\/\/spaceteam.at\/2017\/06\/09\/erstflug-der-oberstufe-von-the-hound\/\">launch of the upper stage of The Hound in May <\/a>, the Space Team celebrated the first (almost) two staged flight of The Hound this past weekend.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Last Saturday we celebrated our next big milestone for the European record project \u201e<a href=\"http:\/\/spaceteam.at\/rockets\/the-hound\/\">The Hound<\/a>\u201c &#8211; being able to fly the rocket as a two staged rocket. Even though the upper stage motor didn&#8217;t start because of a faulty igniter, everything went nominal which is a big step to get to 42 km and beyond.<br \/>\nWe want to forward our sincere thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rc-quax.com\">Modellfluggruppe Quax<\/a> who warmly welcomed us on their airfield in Straubing, Germany.<\/p>\n<p>After a successful test of the board computer&#8217;s software in STR-04A, The Hound launched around 20:00 o&#8217;clock and reached an altitude of around 600 meters.<\/p>\n<p>The following systems and more were tested:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CanSat Deployer (in STR-04A)<\/li>\n<li>Integration of the whole system<\/li>\n<li>Ignition of the upper stage motor with the new FMS breakoutboard<\/li>\n<li>Radio communication with the newly developed LoRaBee in the upper stage<\/li>\n<li>Backup GPS with satellite communication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[table id=14 \/]<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-4520 gallery-columns-3
